"Made it a Fretless!"

I just got this bass, and since my Ibanez SRF700 is just way too big for me to get around on, I promptly ripped the frets outta this baby and made it fretless! Wow, it's so small and light, super easy to get around on, has great tone, lots of tonal variations. And it's surprisingly well-made. My only complaint was the volume pot hole wasn't drilled straight, so the knob isn't on straight. I'll probably fix that, though. The frets came out very easily with no tear-out. The nut was decent enough to keep, i just took it out and sanded down the bottom (going to do it some more until I get that nice 'twang' going on.) I put some flatwound short scales on that I had laying around (I wonder if they make them even shorter as the E ended up wrapping onto the tuner). I got the Sunburst. Very glossy, super nice finish. The neck is very nice and unfinished, the fretboard was very nice. All I had to do was use some 220 grit paper to take my fret markers (maple) down flush, oiled the fretboard, put the strings back on. Boom! Took a couple hours total. For $189 you cannot go wrong with this bass. If you gig tight places, just wanna play at home, or are small (like me) or need it for a kid, it's totally worth it.
